The Hunger Games

Imagine a world in which you had to compete for your life and survive in the wild for the entertainment of others .  That’s what happens in the epic    sci-fi / fantasy novel The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.

Katniss Everdeen has been protecting and feeding her family for years, and Peeta Malark is just the son of a baker living an easy life. But there is one day that Peeta, Katniss, and the rest of District 12’s teenagers are at risk, the day of the reaping.  The reaping is when the capitol( the central commanding government) chooses a boy and a girl to compete in the Hunger Games. The chosen tributes are then forced to kill other

tributes in order to win the games.  What will happen?  Who will be chosen? And last but not least, who will prevail?  “And may the odds be ever in your favor.”
“When I push myself up on my numb arms I see it’s none of the above.Clove is dangling a foot of the ground imprisoned in Thresh’s arms.”  Those are the words that begin my favorite part of the book due to the the emotions of  justice, vengeance, and mercy and also the fact that thresh is a huge monster that likes to kill things.

If you enjoy epic novels, you will love this book and the rest of the trilogy . On a scale of 1-10,  I give this book an 11. It’s really that exciting.

I encourage you to get this book and join Katniss on her quest for victory.
Oh… “And may the odds be ever in your favor.”
